🚁Big Views don’t need a big drone.

Behind-the-Scenes with DJI Mini 3 (Los Lunas, NM)

Out here in Los Lunas, NM, I rely on the DJI Mini 3 — light, compact, and perfect for quick setups when timing and light matter most.

Surrounded by mesas, river trails, and volcanic hills, Los Lunas is more than a quiet village — it’s an untapped playground for explorers. With skies that stretch for miles and rugged terrain shaped by time, it’s a natural canvas for capturing motion, mood, and story from above.

This shoot started just after sunrise. I hiked in with minimal gear, locked in my angles, and sent the Mini 3 up to capture Los Lunas from above — rooftops glowing, desert lines stretching, and shadows creeping across the mesa.

🌽 Mini Story – Drone Photography Over a Cornfield

There’s something about a cornfield that pulls you back — to summer nights, dusty sneakers, and the sound of wind brushing through tall stalks.

I flew the drone over this field just outside Los Lunas, golden hour hitting every row like a ripple. From above, it looked endless — perfect symmetry, soft shadows, and that glow only late summer gives.

But this wasn’t just a beautiful shot — it felt familiar.
Like road trips with the windows down.
Like childhood games of hide-and-seek.
Like the kind of quiet we don’t get enough of anymore.

Sometimes drone photography isn’t about the height.
It’s about perspective — seeing the simple things in a new way.
